The folks at Navis Pack & Ship Norfolk in Virginia were contracted by the United States Navy recently to create custom crates. They needed two wood crates: one that was 20 feet long and another that was 25 feet long. Navis Pack & Ship specializes in custom crating for the packing and shipping of delicate items, so we have plenty of experience creating crates that are durable enough for anything, even anything the Navy needs to do! Due to the huge size of these two crates, we got some help from a local towing company to deliver them to the Naval reserve in Norfolk.
The United States military will often use private companies for various products and services. The Navy base is not far from where Navis Pack & Ship Norfolk is located, which made us an obvious choice, but it was the value that really got us the contract. The Navy, which operates through the US budget, has to be careful to select service providers that will fulfill a need while also maintaining specific prices, delivery promises, and other obligations.
