William Mangum is and has been one of the most well-known artists throughout North Carolina. Having resided in Greensboro for over the last 30 years, Bill has produced more than 3,000 original watercolors. Each year eight to ten paintings are released for reproduction and sold into collections. During the course of his career, over 50,000 pieces have been distributed to buyers both private and corporate. It's no wonder he's known as "North Carolina's artist."
Bill has traveled near and far for a chance to paint realistic stills of unique architecture and scenery. Some of the artist’s favorite sources include universities and golf courses, but the imagery doesn’t stop there; Bill has created masterpieces of mountains and coastal views as well. The variety of landscapes spans across the world to include notable locations throughout Europe.
It was in 1981 that Bill and his brother Bob Carey launched the Carey-Mangum Gallery, later to become the William Mangum Fine Art gallery. Bill would efficiently crank out one new painting a week with the precision that only comes with artistic mastery.
