Five years after his last exhibit in Denver, Colorado, William Betts is back again for his new display titled “Remote Sensing.” This array of paintings follows a theme of surveillance from an outsider, public perspective.
His first exhibition in 2007, “Vertigo,” was a huge success and contributed to a large following of contemporary art collectors. Now, Betts has returned with another spin on contemporary art that gives a different view on our society. By recreating surveillance images using acrylic on canvas, an isolated image of our culture in everyday life is exposed. This leaves for an open interpretation by the viewer as to what the picture depicts.
“Remote Sensing” will be on display from April 19 – May 26, 2012 at Plus Gallery. The gallery is open Wednesday – Saturday from 12-5pm, or by appointment.
