Welcome to Boise! Boise is fun to say but even more fun to visit! We’ve got a quick tour of downtown Boise’s most popular event locations to share with you.
BAM, otherwise known as the Boise Art Museum has been around since 1937 and initially did not seek to collect artwork. It wasn’t until 1961 that the museum incorporated a gallery, and by 1972 they needed more space and shut down to expand, re-opening in 1973. Today, BAM is one of only 4% of museums across the nation to hold AAM (American Associations of Museums) accreditation. Located at 670 Julia Davis Drive, Boise, Idaho 83702, the museum holds a variety of events annually. Among the most popular are Art in the Park and the museum’s annual Gala. Art in the Park features over 40 vendors, live entertainment, over 250 artists, jazz in the garden, and the whole event takes place outdoors! The date for this year’s Art in the Park runs from September 6-8, 2013 in Julia Davis Park.
The Egyptian Theatre, one of the most appreciated historical buildings in the heart of downtown Boise, was created in 1927 on the corner of Capital Boulevard and Main Street. The theater hosts film festivals, performers, concerts, and opera performances. Everything from the latest and greatest popular music performances to psychic mediums to classic movie viewings take place in the theatre, ensuring a well rounded event list to satisfy Boise's diverse audiences. The building is also available to rent for weddings, business conferences/meetings, private parties and events, allowing your guests the opportunity to experience a one-of-a-kind venue for your big day. Contact them for ticketing prices and reservations and get ready for a historical Egyptian experience.
The Linen Building originated in 1910 as the Laundry Building. Today, the Linen Building is an eco-friendly events location. From weddings to proms, concerts and corporate events, the linen building caters to guests of all types. Located at 1402 W Grove St, Boise, ID 83702, the building has two levels with 13 floor plans to choose from, and adds personalization to any event. In addition to rental accommodations, the Linen Building has an art gallery located on the second floor in loft style providing natural light perfect for viewing with the naked eye. Plus, The Linen Building offers discounts for non-profit events and lets you bring your own custom decorations to any event. Their events list is held on their Facebook page, so head over to see what's going on during your next visit!
The final stop on our events tour of downtown Boise is The Penthouse of CW Moore Plaza. Perhaps one of the most unique celebrations to be had is on the rooftop of a nine story building. The view from the Penthouse offers exquisite scenery, with both interior and exterior floor plans available. Guests are able to customize their experience and with a cap of one event per day, clients are guaranteed the full attention of staff.
As always, the friendly staff at Navis Pack & Ship Boise are ready to meet you and help you with any packing and shipping needs you might have, whether it's a delicate art piece, a large souvenir or even props for live action art. Come in and say hi!
