This summer marks the return of Friday Flicks on the Green in New Haven, Connecticut. Presented by The City of New Haven’s Livable Cities Initiative and the Department of Cultural Affairs, “Friday Flicks” is a free, outdoors movie series on the historic downtown green that the whole family can enjoy together.
“Friday Flicks was one of the City’s most favorite family summer events and we received so many requests to bring it back that we’re excited that we are able to again make this available to the public,” said Barbara Lamb, the City’s Director of Cultural Affairs.
The series begins this Friday, July 15th, and will run for five weeks through August 5th. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs; movies will begin shortly after sunset between 8:30-9pm. Parking is available on the street as well as in the nearby garage. Refreshments may be available from food vendors with goodies like popcorn, hot dogs and sodas, but just in case, we recommend bringing a picnic to enjoy under the stars with your family.
The movies currently scheduled for the series are as follows:
July 15: Men In Black
July 22: Back to the Future
July 29: The Blues Brothers
August 5: Finding Nemo
August 12: Last Days of the Coliseum
