Navis Pack & Ship of Jacksonville continues to work closely with the Peter O'Neill Gallery in St. Augustine, Florida. Below is artwork recently shipped titled “Two Minutes of Silence,” in remembrance of the lives lost due to the events occurring on 09/11/2001.
According to the Peter O'Neill Gallery website, the original oil was sold at auction for $20,000 on October 10th, 2001. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the original were donated to the New York City Fireman and Emergency Service Relief Fund. To date they have also donated 14,000 lithographs of the "Two Minutes of Silence" to Fire Departments, Police Departments and Emergency Service Stations. It is their intention to donate, with the support of the public, to every station in the country.
The Original Oil now hangs in the Fire Fighters Museum in New York City. In September of 2002, the image was chosen for the cover of the FDNY and City of New York memorial held at Madison Square Garden. If you would like to obtain a lithograph copy of the "Two Minutes of Silence" for your local fire station at no charge, please contact the Peter O'Neill Gallery by phone at 904.808.1311.
