If you love art but have never had that artistic touch, or aren't the type to dedicate your full-time career to creating, you may want to consider a career in art education. Art Therapist

Many people often feel more comfortable expressing themselves artistically rather than verbally. An art therapist can help their patients become more comfortable with their own emotions. After all, who hasn’t laughed or cried or been emotionally moved during a movie or song? Art therapy can be used to help individuals suffering from eating disorders, low self esteem, and other mental health issues in a non-judgemental environment. Although art therapy can benefit everyone, children tend to do very well with it. If you’re considering this as a career path, you’ll want to make sure you’re OK working with young ones. Art therapists can work independently or at a mental hospital or another type of medical facility. Most art therapists are required to have a master’s degree to get certified.

Art Conservation Scientist

If art history was your favorite subject in school, this might be your ideal career. It involves using science and art history to determine how a piece was created, how it’s deteriorating, and using methods to preserve and restore art. In short, you take what’s already beautiful and make it shine. Pretty cool, huh? As a conservation scientist, you’ll use your skills to help preserve art as best you can. Most art conservation scientists work for museums, as a freelancer, or as part of a private company.

Appraiser

If you can’t get enough of the show Pawn Star (the Vegas based shop where customers bring in their goods and employees then determine the price based in authenticity), you might make a great appraiser.
Art appraisers are responsible for determining the actual value of a piece of art. This comes in handy if the piece is about go up for sale, is being insured, or is about to be distributed as part of a divorce settlement or estate sale. Art appraisers don’t actually determine the authenticity of the work, but they do specialize in a certain era of art (say Renaissance work) and focus just on that. Appraisers must have a bachelor’s degree and get certified.
