The Pacific Northwest is an unfettered majestic and expansive region of America, an area where gleaming elements of nature intersect with human commerce and innovation. Nothing reflects this perfect blend of natural wonder and human creativity than Karen Ehart Art Glass located in 22608 85th Street in Kent, Washington.

The art glass shop creates stunning pieces of art by combining stained glass, jewelry and hand cut abstract pieces. The process of making these find works of art is meticulous and time costuming but worth every second.
First a piece of glass is cut into the essential outline of the piece, and layering glass with metal oxides in a vacuum chamber makes the metals in the artwork. Everything that is in the piece is then combined and laid flat on a kiln, which is then burned at a temperature of 15000 degrees. The firing and cooling process can take up to 36 hours but it creates one amazing flat piece of artwork. A similar approach is then followed using various artistic molds.
Karen Ehart has been in the glass making business for more than 25 years. She began in Alabama, but has spent the last 23 years in the Pacific Northwest. Her shop features beautiful jewelry and accessories including stunning ocean-colored earrings and necklaces. Ehart’s abstract heart boxes are the perfect Valentine’s Day gift.
The artist’s elaborate and moody bowls evoke a celestial dreamy feel and are fitting for any living room decoration. One of the ways that Ehart truly encapsulates life in the Pacific Northwest is through her aquatic sea life glass sculptures. Choose from life-size sea turtles, eagle rays and translucent trout vessels.
The boldest pieces at the artist’s shop are the red, blue and turquoise small body torsos. The human-shaped inventive pieces come on stands as well as by themselves, and feature deep colors and streaks of sparkling lines.
Once customers purchase Ehart’s amazing pieces, patrons can get all of their packaging and shipping needs met at nearby Navis Pack & Ship Seattle.
