For comic lovers in Canada, visit the Toronto Comic Arts Festival that takes place in May. This event consists of a week long celebration of comics and graphic novels and their creators. The week wraps up with a two-day festival that includes hundreds of comic creators, readings, interviews, gallery shows, panels, and more.
The Toronto Comic Arts Festival is a great demonstration of the variation of comic types and the value of its art and literature. The festival is not considered a comic convention, but rather a display of comic-related events with focus on the art of comic creation.
This celebration will take place near the university district, a non-tourist part of town, which offers affordable restaurants, shopping, bars, museums, and more fun activities. It will be held on May 5th from 9am-5pm, and May 6th from 11am-5pm. The admission is free and you can expect to see around 15,000 attendees joining in on the weekend show.
