McBride Gallery was established in 1980 in historic Annapolis, Maryland. Ten years later, the gallery moved from its location in City Dock to a colonial style building on upper Main Street. This gallery contains seven rooms full of artwork, including paintings and sculptures, created by 60 different artists.
Several times a year, McBride Gallery holds a show in which visitors can view artwork as well as meet the artists. One of these shows takes place this year from March 18th to April 8th. This particular show is titled “Great American Landscapes” and will be focusing on Michael Godfrey, a Maryland oil painter.
Godfrey was born in Germany and raised in North Carolina. His awards include the Landscape award in 1996, the bronze medal for a Yellowstone National Park painting in 1998, and making the National Arts for the Parks Competition Top 100 on six different occasions.
An opportunity to meet this talented artist will take place on the opening day of the showcase, March 18th, from 1-4pm. There will also be an “Artist Talk” that takes place the same day at 2pm.
