Colorado’s Denver is a busy and busting city situated one mile above the sea line, earning the nickname the Mile High City (just a little fun trivia for you). But in all seriousness, Denver is a great metropolis that features the Red Rocks Amphitheater, Sports Authority Field at Mile High, diverse parks and of course, museums. One of our favorites is The Denver Art Museum situated in the Civic Center, just a mere 13 miles away from our Navis Pack & Ship Denver location.

It’s sheer size is impressive, as one of the largest art museums between Chicago and the West Coast, and it features 10 permanent collections: African, American Indian, Asian, European and American, modern and contemporary, pre-Columbian, photography, Spanish Colonial, textile, and western American art. Or, you can think of it as about 70,000 amazing works of art.
The museum was founded in 1893, but under a different name – Denver Artists’ Club. It wasn’t always located where it currently is either; its present location was only selected in 1949. Since then, it has significantly grown in size and is now one of the city's most recognizable landmarks.
Perhaps its most prominent feature is the Duncan Pavilion; the addition to the Morgan Wing opened in 2006 and links the oldest part of the building (Morgan Wing) with the numerous newer ones. The daylight-lit space is not only a link between the museums’ various branches; it’s also a pedestrian resting space. Visitors can chill out and look out at the city from the building's incredible rooftop that provides a scenic panoramic view of the sprawling city.
