It may seem like a quite some time before June arrives, but the festival season will arrive before you know it. The city of Cambridge, Ontario is hosting an art festival on Saturday, June 1, 2013 from 4 to 10 P.M. And what better time to be in Ontario, Canada than June?
This year’s focus at the Cambridge Arts Festival is on Interactive Arts. Celebrating their 18th year, the event welcomes local artists to participate in the festival, allowing them the opportunity to share their works with visitors and others locally as well as surrounding communities. Musicians and artists, as well as performers, are welcomed to join the event for free and have until April 15th to submit an application for participation. Additionally, applications for food vendors, merchandise vendors, and volunteers are available for submission for a fee. The event is projecting a count of approximately 8,000 visitors.
The festival is a nonprofit event supported by the city of Cambridge along with a group of volunteers. The goal is to allow artists the benefit of exhibiting their pieces and perhaps selling them while at the event. Because there is no charge for artist participation, the Cambridge Arts Festival relies on sponsorships and donations to help finance the function. The event is FREE to the public and offers many free activities for visitors to participate in. (Yay!)
A list of musicians from the 2012 festival currently appear on the Cambridge Arts Festival website, in addition to a list of artists, and performers. Check back periodically for updates for the 2013 event as more applications come in.
Gifts in Kind are accepted for distribution to festival goers. They accept items including water, t-shirts, children’s prizes, marketing solutions, service including audio and lighting, and of course food and beverages.
Donations are welcomed by CAF (Cambridge Arts Festival) via Paypal or check by mail to Cambridge Arts Festival, 62 Dickson St., Cambridge, ON N1R 1T8. Art supporters are encouraged to help out in any way they can.
