Gone are the days of the average concert in which patrons sit on the lawn and chill to the music. With the rise in complex performance, event creators are constantly looking for the newest, most intriguing ways to captivate audiences on a whole other level.
Amongst the more recent up and coming of events that aim to capture the audience in unique and previously unknown ways is the part performance piece, part art exhibit, part party called Life in Color. A beautiful blend of art, music, and performance, it is seemingly the love child of The Color Run and Cirque du Soleil, and provides attendees with an experience unlike any other.
Born in 2006, Life in Color was first created on college campuses in Florida. Known as “The World’s Largest Paint Party”, attendees became astonished by the intense combination of stilt walkers, fire acts, contortionists, and aerial artists. While spectators gaze upon the theatrical talent, DJs pump up the crowd with electrifying music as the canons get revved up to blast the audience with gobs of paint in bright hues of blue, green, and pink. But this event isn't just for those in their early 20s... anyone looking for a one of a kind experience is encouraged and welcomed to attend!
Art doesn't have to be expereinced in a formal gallery or with a seated audience - artists know that art can live just as organically as people can, and that's what Life in Color is all about. In 2010, Life in Color kicked off its first 3D tour with performers eclipsed with three dimensional paint, while 3D visuals appeared on large screens and 3D glasses given to concert goers.
With the tour constantly expanding, the website features videos to offer up an up close experience for those considering a ticket purchase. Life in Color will arrive in Bridgeport, Connecticut on April 11, 2013 at Webster Bank Arena located at Webster Bank Arena 600 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT 06604.
